Dare to Dream Grant

For Kids Only is a Christian grant agency that can help fund your children's ministry. The Dare to Dream Grant  funds programs with specific faith-based components geared towards children ages 0-12 that further the mission of For Kids Only, have specific measurable spiritual and academic outcomes, and can serve as a model in their local community. 

Look at a list of programs funded in recent years and see if your program fits into the types of ministries the Dare to Dream funding committee has responded affirmatively to in the past..

If you can answer yes to all of the following questions, you can consider an application. If you cannot answer yes to all of these questions, do not waste your time applying.

1. Do you have IRS 501(c)3 exempt status?
2. Does the program you want to fund have an educational and spiritual component?
3. Does your funding request exclude all items listed on the Dare to Dream Do Not Fund list?  www.fko.org/GrantProgram.html
4. Are the majority (2/3 or more) of the children in your program "at risk" children?
5. Is the amount you want to request below $10,000?
6. Does your organization/program have clear program objectives and a strategy for reaching "at risk" children?
7. Do you have a concrete plan to start or grow your program?
8. Do you have a strategy to provide funding that does not rely solely on grants? This can include such things as fundraising, church or community sponsorship, individual donors, etc.
9. Does your organization/program have a clear mission and well defined strategy for reaching it?

STRONG Foundations, Inc. will be conducting a one hour conference call on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 1:30 pm eastern time to assist organizations in filling out the application. The call will cover the various components of the RFP, discuss aspects of the program important to the funder, and address email questions from call participants. Dr. Catherine Miller, Executive Director of STRONG Foundations, Inc. has been helping faith-based ministries to reach their full potential for over twenty years. She provides training for ministry staff in relationship skills, staff recruitment and retention, prayer and spiritual development, needs assessment, strategic planning, mentoring, networking and grant writing.

The cost of the conference call is $10 per phone line. You can have the phone on speaker or use multiple phones in one location so several people from a single organization can participate for one fee.  Complete the registration form (MS Word format) and mail it, along with your check, to STRONG Foundations. Once your registration is received, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for dialing in to the conference call and a power point presentation. You can download the power point in advance and have it to follow along during the conference call. Checks and registration forms must be received by October 5th.
